Iftar Donation-Providing Iftar for the IDPs in Mogadishu

The blessed month of Ramadan is starting soon – may Allah (Swt) bestow His mercy and blessings upon you and your families.

This Ramadan, Future Youth Association will be providing iftar meals to the most needy persons in the camps of Mogadishu and you can support us by giving SADAQah or ZAKAT.

Your Ramadan donations will help us distribute food packs to impoverished families, and provide  Iftar for the internally displaced peoples in Mogadishu, and also keep in mind “Whoever feeds a fasting person will have their reward without decreasing from the fasting person’s reward.”

Since Future Youth Association was established, every Ramadan we have been distributing food packs (up to 20 Kilos) to impoverished families across Somalia. These food packs can feed an entire family for a whole month. We make every effort to make sure the food packs are locally sourced. Local sourcing means these food packs not only help families during Ramadan – but also provide sustainable means of living when Ramadan is over. On average, subject to differing local market rates, the estimated cost of a Ramadan Food Pack is $50. Each pack feeds one family for one month.

We will spend this your donations for meal served at the end of the day during Ramadan, to break the day’s fast for the needy. Iftar is the meal served at sunset during Ramadan, as Muslims break their daily fast. Muslims traditionally first break the fast with dates and either water or a yogurt drink. After maghrib prayer, (prayer at the sun set), they then have a full-course meal, consisting of soup, salad, appetizers and main dishes. In some cultures, the full-course meal is delayed into later in the evening. This funds will be disburste directly to the indivedual that this campaign is intended to.
